About Mehdi Ayabi

Mehdi Ayabi’s educational background in graphic and pictorial design has enabled him to understand  photographic design and photo-illustration.  As a self-taught in photography back in the early 1980’s, he managed to operate his own professional photo-lab and printed his own colour and black and white photo prints.  His photography career began in 1984 as a writer and photojournalist after he returned to his native home land Iran, from England.  He was a well known freelance photojournalist until 1986, when he left Iran for Spain to operate his commercial photography studio for about three years in Barcelona.  In 1989, he immigrated to Canada to reside for a year in Toronto, Ontario.  He then moved to Vancouver, British Columbia in 1990, where he worked both as a freelance photographer and for several studios.

In 1996, he graduated with a diploma in Professional Commercial Photography from the Western Academy of Photography in Victoria, British Colombia, Canada.

Mehdi Ayabi specializes in Fashion, Cosmetics, Portraiture and Weddings as well as in Food and Beverage Photography.  He has worked for The Revlon Cosmetic Products Line called “La Ultima” as a glamour photographer.  Mehdi established “Felicita Photography”, his home-based photography business in 1999 in Vancouver. Mehdi Ayabi was born in Teheran, Iran in 1952 and became a Canadian Citizen in 1996.
